Derek at 23 months

Some things about Derek at 23 months:

- He is starting to expand his vocabulary a little bit. Some of the new words he says are choo choo when playing with his trains, ow ow, bye bye (all the time), slide, catch it, Parpa (Parker), cat, pig, and duck.

- Speaking of trains, he absolutely loves trains! Lately he's been sitting on his train table and playing with them on there. It's so cute!

- He loves being a big brother. He wants Parker to play with him so badly and tries to help when he cries by putting his paci in his mouth or if there is a bottle nearby, that's going straight in his mouth! 

- He is absolutely, completely, wholeheartedly, obsessed with Mickey Mouse. He says Mouse like "Fuf" and will jump and dance whenever he even sees the picture on the dvr. When one episode ends he will bring over the remote and say "Fuf" for more!

- He is hitting the terrible 2's early. Hard. He is testing Mommy and Daddy and pushing all the buttons he can! 

- His eating is like a roller coaster. One day the boy will test us and refuse to eat anything we put in front of him. Another day it will seem like we starve him and he will eat everything in sight!

- He loves trucks and cars more than ever. He has a big truck he got from Grandma Deline and plays with it all the time.

- He still loves to read, read, and read some more. His favorite book is The Hungry Caterpillar and he will bring it to us to read over and over and over and then over again. 

- He's a lean, mean, skinny boy, machine! He is still wearing shorts from last year that are size 9 month and shirts that are 12-18 months! I attribute this to the energy that boy has. He seriously NEVER stops moving. 

- He finished out his MMO program at the end of May and in August he will be starting 2 year old Preschool and learning lots more. He will have daily music and language lessons and have so much fun!

- That hair we never thought would come in is finally starting to come in. It's thick and light blonde just like Mommy and Daddy's was when they were little.
