Happy Birthday Derek!!

Happy Birthday Derek! As cliche as I'm about to sound since I've said it time and again, I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by. A nurse in the hospital told me "the days go by slowly but the years go by quickly" and I firmly believe that.

You bring such joy and happiness to everyone's lives. I love you more than life itself.

10 teethies

Derek's teeth are killing him. He's never really been into chewing on anything but his fingers and his wrists. He's an emo kid already. Teethers were always a big fat fail. Well this week we've introduced teethers in an attempt to hinder him chewing on his wrists and leaving the deep bite marks on his poor arms. Finally, he's catching onto the idea.

Doesn't he just look so pitiful.
Oh but OH EM GEE, check it out, he has HAIR!

Sippy Success!

We've gone through quite a few sippies without real success until we found the Tilty Cup. LOVE it. He's had sweet tea (his favorite drink ever) out of it but won't drink milk out of it. Grandma Deline made him a smoothie and with the smoothie lid for it (genius idea Tilty!) he was able to drink a formula fruit smoothie out of it for breakfast. Way to go Derek!

Derek's had lots of big buy foods. Anything we eat, he wants to try.
Some of what he's had so far:
pizza
spaghetti
pb&j
cheese
scrambled eggs
banana sammie
cooked veggies
chicken nugget
cinnamon twists

He's cruising around on everything and trying to stand unassisted. It won't be long.

His birthday is coming up and we can't wait!

Yet more teeth and pool o'balls

Derek has even more teeth coming in! Our poor baby is permanently teething. Never just one at a time either. The two I wrote about in the last post are in and now he's getting 1 more on either side of those teeth with a small space in between. Now if only we could get him to chew things other than his yogurt melts with those chompers, we'd be in business!!
