Chompers

Not so cute and innocent sprouting teeth,
Now that you've both made your entrance on poor Derek's bottom gums and he's now addicted to teething tablets, please be on your merry way so we can have our happy baby back for a little while.
Xoxo,
Mommy and Daddy

No, not me Monday

It definitely wasn't me who bopped Derek in the head while playing with him and then laughed as his pouty face turned into a wth face, no not me.

It wasn't me who was contemplating putting a little brandy on my childs gums since his tooth is coming in and he screams and screams nonstop.

It wasn't me who woke up Friday morning late after turning off my alarm and thinking it was Saturday.

It wasn't me who drooled and ogled Taylor Lautner not once but twice and in front of my husband no less. Definitely not me. ;)

Here's one of my favorite pictures.

Take a moment and say a prayer

Too often we take for granted what we have and get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle.

Today a dear friend lost her battle to Crohn's disease after a surgery with many complications. She'd be fighting hard the past couple weeks. She leaves behind a husband and 7 month old daughter as well as many family and friends. Please say prayers for their family to find peace and comfort in this hard time.
You will be greatly missed Shelly.

I know it's the holidays but if you have a few extra dollars to spare, please donate to help this family as they try to cope through the holidays. Every little bit helps.

Babies don't keep.

But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep.

The grumpy penguin

Happy with Grandpa in his cute little halloween outfit before the costume.

Not so sure about this costume after being in it 3.2 seconds.

Officially done with the costume all of 5 minutes in.

MUCH happier naked with Grandma

Sleeping with Holli on our visit. Sadly we took no pictures on our visit to Pap and Gamma's. Bad Mommy and Daddy.

4 Month Appt

Nom nom nom nom

Don't know if you can really tell but his index finger has a hickey on it from him sucking so hard on those fingers!!

Derek went in for his 4 month appt today to get shots (awwie) and checked out to see how he's doing. Everything seems to be well although we were given the big no-no when we told him we let him nap on his tummy occasionally. Seriously the kid sleeps best on his tummy and we only do it when he's right beside us and we can tell he's fine or when he's in his crib with the angelcare monitor on to tell us if he's still breathing. It's not like we're just throwing him in there and not caring about him for hours. He LOVES all food with the exception of green beans. He has a major freak out meltdown tantrum when he just smells them, heaven help us when he's in the terrible 2's. :) He will jerk his head away and start screaming bloody murder like you're hurting him if you put them so much as on his lip. So far he's had applesauce, pears, carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and loved them though. He also enjoys the rice cereal with the fruit in it. He's still rolling from his tummy to his back pretty much anytime we try to do tummy time. He has started scooting forward though on his tummy kind of like an army crawl. 2 few weeks ago after nap I came into his room when he woke up and he was at the top of the crib after I'd put him to sleep near the bottom. This week he's starting going in circles in his crib while on his tummy.

4 Month Stats:
Weight: 14 lb 1 oz (22 percentile)
Height: 25 1/2 in (58 percentile)
It seems his percentiles have flip flopped from before. Interesting. He's definitely long and lean though.

2 Months:
Weight - 11lb 5oz (40th percentile)
Height - 22 in (25th percentile)

Birth:
Weight - 7lb 3oz (7lb 1 oz when we left the hospital) (20th percentile)
Height - 19 in (20th percentile)
