A few things about Derek at 19 months.
- He's learning his body parts. If you ask him where his nose, eyes, ears, hair, and belly are, he will point to them. With his belly, he likes to just hold his shirt up high and smile a megawatt smile.
- He loves to play "where's Derek" which is our version of peek-a-boo. He'll cover his eyes and when you say "where's Derek?" he'll uncover with another megawatt smile and expect you to say BOO.
- He also loves playing peek-a-boo around doors or walls. He'll hide and then pop out.
- He adores fruit of just about any kind. His only objection thus far is peaches. He loves grapes and blueberries the most.
- Every now and then he'll go climb in his big boy bed himself if he's tired. Sometimes if he's feeling like it, when we say "go night night" he'll go climb in but it's not very often.
- He can sign for more, please, and all done.
- He will do just about anything for praise (clapping and saying yay). Especially give kisses.
- He still loves to scream in a very high pitched voice. Now it's a mixed babble/scream/screech.
- He loves playing with one of our old phones and when you say "hello" he'll put it up to his ear to talk.
- He loves music. Whenever he hears music he dances his little white boy shake.
- Him and Daddy love to play the game chase and do laps around the kitchen and living room which induces those lovely screeches of "Daddddddddeeeeeeeeee" in the highest pitch possible.
